51 36 047 Replacing Trim On Rear Left Or Right Door Window (Z3 Coupe, M Coupe)

NOTE:
- Ensure car is at room temperature (≥ 18 °C).
- if necessary, heat up adhesive area.
- Adhesion is not guaranteed below this temperature (formation of condensation water).







Remove trim (1) from side window (2) with special tool 00 9 318 (universal wedge) or special tool 00 9 322 (adhesive wedge).

Installation:
Treatment of adhesive area on side window:
- Clean with spirit
- Air drying time at least 2 minutes
- Apply a thin coat of glass primer 205/5 or Sika bonding agent 205/5 (sourcing reference: BMW Parts Service)
- Air drying time at least 2 minutes







Installation:
- Detach liner (3) (protective film on adhesive tape)
- Align trim (2) on door window and, applying firm thumb pressure, press trim down over entire adhesive area.
- Wipe off remnants of glass primer or bonding agent with a dry cloth otherwise spots will appear on the door window
