Front Underbody Protection (Engine)

Removing and Installing or Replacing Front Underbody Protection (Engine)







Release screws and remove underbody protection.







S50:
Lift out expansion rivets.







Release screws, left/right, and remove covers.







Remove air temperature sensor (1) from left brake air duct (risk of damage).
Release screws (2), left/right, and remove underbody protection.

Installation note:
When installing underbody protection, make sure that air duct for oil cooler is correctly positioned (insert between radiator and oil cooler).







M 51:
Release screws, left/right, and remove covers.







Remove air temperature sensor (1) from brake air duct.
If necessary, remove thermo switch (2) for heated washer nozzles from brake cooling air duct.
Release screws and remove underbody protection.

Installation note:
When installing underbody protection, make sure that air duct for oil cooler is correctly positioned (insert between radiator and oil cooler).
