General Engine Tightening Specifications


Main Bearing Screws M10:
Jointing Torque 25 Nm
Torque Angle Turn 50 °

NOTE: Replace, wash and oil main bearing screws.

Tightening Sequence
1. Tighten all screws on main bearing cover with jointing torque.
2. Unfasten screws on main bearing cover 6.
3. Strike back and front of crankshaft with plastic hammer to center thrust bearing (do not damage crankshaft).
4. Tighten screws of main bearing cover 6 with jointing torque.
5. Tighten down all screws of main bearing caps with special tool 11 2 110 or with special tool 00 9 120 to torsion angle.

Struts/Bracing Shell:
M10 43 Nm
M8 22 Nm
Drain Plug For Coolant In Engine Block:
M14 x 1.5 25 Nm
Main Oil Gallery Seal Plugs:
M16 x 1.5 34 Nm
18 x 1.5 40 Nm
Oil Spray Nozzle:
M6 10 Nm
M8 x 1 Banjo Bolt 12 Nm
Cylinder Head Cover:
M6 10 Nm
M7 15 Nm
Timing Case To Cylinder Head:
M7 15 Nm
M8 20 Nm

Tightening Sequence

Jointing Torque 30 Nm
1st Torque Angle 90 °
2nd Torque Angle 90 °

NOTE: Relace wash and oil screws.

Oil Drain Plug:
M12 x 1.5 25 Nm
M18 x 1.5 30 Nm
M22 x 1.5 60 Nm

Upper Section:
M6 8.8 10 Nm

M8 8.8 22 Nm
Lower Section Without Microencapsulated Screws

NOTE: For Lower Section, Use New Microencapsulated Screws

Increment Wheel On Crankshaft:
Jointing Torque 5 Nm
Torque Angle 45 °

NOTE: Replace Screws

Flywheel To Crankshaft:
Use New Microencapsulated Screws Only 105 Nm
Flexplate To Crankshaft:
Use New Microencapsulated Screws Only 120 Nm
Vibration Damper/Hub To Crankshaft M12 x 1.5:
Jointing Torque 60 Nm
1st Torque Angle 50 °
2nd Torque Angle 50 °
Belt Pulley / Vibration Damper To Hub:
M8 22 Nm
Camshaft Bearing Cap:
M6 10 Nm
M7 14 Nm
M8 20 Nm

NOTE: Damage to camshaft or cylinder head can occur if Disassembly/Assembly procedures noted under Camshaft, Engine, Service and Repair are not followed.
