The importance of transmission oil can not be understated. Incorrect or non approved transmission oils can lead to operational malfunctions and in some cases transmission failure.

Oil Level must be considered during diagnosis. Incorrect oil levels can manifest into customer perceived transmission malfunctions.

Follow model specific oil level checking procedures in the repair manual in conjunction with the DIS/MoDiC to monitor transmission temperature.

Newer vehicles have an Oil Level Checking Service Function as part of the DIS. This program provides the pre check vehicle conditions, oil temperature requirements and on screen status of temperature.
