SUBJECT:
X5 3.01 DME Programming

MODEL:
E53 X5 3.0i

Situation:
After installing a new DME, programming is not possible. "Data not available" is displayed.

Cause:
DIS / MoDiC software

Correction:
Manually determine/program the DME using CD23 Update (P23.1)

Procedure:

1. Install the DME

2. Using the DIS/MoDiC with CD23 Update (P23.1) only, select Programming.

3. Select "DME Programming".

4. Select "Exchange control unit".

5. Select "1. Determine basic control unit"

6. "Is faulty control unit installed in the car?" is displayed on the screen. Select "NO".

7. Enter the following basic control module number and programmed control module number when prompted:

8. Follow the directions on the screen to complete the programming.

*Programming # 's subject to change with future DIS CD releases.

After programming, align the DME-EWS, clear all adaptations, and clear DME/EGS fault codes.
