Removing and Installing

CAUTION:
After the installation of the fuel tank/Prior to the first engine start-up:
- Check electrical resistance between ground strap (tank filler pipe) and wheel hub.
- Measured value: approx. 0.6 ohm.
- Fill fuel tank with at least 5 liters of fuel.

REPLACEMENT:
- Draw the fuel out of the fuel tank
- Remove complete rear axle.
- Remove activated carbon canister.




- Unfasten ground strap.

- Unlock and remove connecting nipple from tank ventilation line (1) with special tool 16 1 040.




- Disconnect fuel hose with special tool 13 3 010 and remove supply line (5).

Installation Note:
- Replace hose clip.




- Disconnect fuel hose with special tool 13 3 010 and remove return line (6).

Installation Note:
- Replace hose clip.




- Unfasten screws (1) on clamping tapes.




- Support fuel tank with special tool 00 2 020.




- Unscrew screw.
- Lower fuel tank approx. 5...10 cm.




- Unfasten plug connection.
- Pull fuel tank down to remove.
