Quarter Window Glass: Adjustments




Adjusting Rear Left or Right Side Windows


NOTE: The rear side windows can be adjusted without removing the side trim panels.


Requirement:
Convertible soft top must be correctly adjusted.

Remove rear body molding,

Remove insert in side trim,

When adjusting the preload setting, it may be necessary to remove actuating handle,


If necessary, adjust door window glass after adjusting side windows,

Close convertible soft top and side windows.







Ideal adjustment:
(A) Distance between rear rubber seal (1) and rear edge of door window.

(B) Upper submersion depth in convertible soft top.
Dimension (A) = 22... 24 mm
Dimension (B) = 3... 5 mm







Distance (A):
Loosen nuts (1) and (2) through the panel recesses using Special Tool 41 6 110.







Loosen the screws (clockwise) through the bores behind the body molding.
Adjust dimension (A) and tighten lower screws.
Dimension (A) = 22 ...... 24 mm







Center position:
By rotating the screws (1) with Special Tool 41 6 110, adjust the center setting and tighten nuts (1).







Submersion Depth (B):
Loosen screw (3) behind the safety belt, set submersion depth (B) with end stop and tighten screw back down.







Preload on window angle:
Rotate screw (2) with Special Tool 41 6 110 to adjust preload until the side window locates with the rubber seal on the convertible soft top when the soft top is closed.
When the soft top is open, the door window glass must be aligned with the rubber seal on the side windows.
Tighten nut (2).
