Business CD53 Radio Has Distortion when in AM Band

E53 (X5) from 10/2000 to 09/2002

Vehicles with option 661 (Radio BMW Business CD)

SITUATION
Audio distortion (audio clipping) that is particularly noticeable on AM band "talk" radio stations

Note:
Some customers may perceive this distortion as poor AM reception.

CAUSE
Software error in the Business CD53 radio.

CORRECTION
Replace the radio.
