Front Door Panel: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing Front Left Or Right Door Trim Panel (Z3 Roadster, M Roadster, Z3 Coupe, M Coupe)


WARNING!
Model with side airbag:
Follow safety instructions for working on cars with airbag systems.







Lift out cover plate.
Release screw and remove window crank.







Remove outside mirror adjusting button.







Remove mirror switch with special tool 61 1 300 and pull apart plug connection.







Remove plate forwards.
Unscrew screw.







Model with side airbag:
If necessary, lever out cover cap (1) and release screw underneath.







CAUTION!
Do not pull handle (risk of damage).


Unclip door trim panel.







Lift off door trim panel upwards.
If necessary, disconnect plug connection on speaker.







Installation:
If necessary, replace damaged clips.







Model with side airbag:

Installation:
If necessary, replace damaged clips.







Installation:
Pull inner cavity cover strip (1) upwards to remove.







Installation:
Fit cavity cover strip (1) at back with distance (A) to door trim (2).
Lift sealing lip (3).
Dimension (A) = approx. 8 mm

Installation:
After assembling the door trim panel proceed as follows:
- Open door window
- Lock with vehicle key
- Check for ease-of-movement on retaining button linkage
- If necessary align linkages
