Brake Pad: Testing and Inspection

NOTE:
- The thickness of the outer brake linings can be determined without removing the wheels.
- If necessary, move the vehicle until the aperture for the brake lining wear indicator (brake lining) is visible through the rim styling.

Procedure
- Insert special tool 34 1 260 through the rim and into recess for brake lining wear indicator
- Press special tool to brake lining, slide ring (1) in direction of arrow to limit position and read off measuring value.

NOTE:
(A) brake disk
(B) brake lining

- Residual lining thickness of front wheel brake, refer to Specifications.
- Residual lining thickness of rear wheel brake, refer to Specifications.
