Rear Converter

Removing And Installing/Replacing Center Muffler

Caution!
Support catalytic converter with lifter.

US Version:
Intermediate pipes are fitted in place of center muffler.

ECE Version:
Disconnect plug connections on both monitor sensors.
Release screw connection for temperature sensor.





Release screw connections (1) between exhaust manifold and catalytic converter.

Installation:
Check gaskets, replace if necessary.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Coat threads with -CRC- copper paste.





Release screw connections (1) between center muffler and rear mufflers.
Remove catalytic converter towards bottom.

Installation:
Check gaskets, replace if necessary.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Coat threads with -CRC- copper paste.





Release screw connections between catalytic converter and center muffler.

Installation:
Check gaskets, replace if necessary.
Coat threads with -CRC- copper paste.
Detach center muffler from catalytic converter.
If necessary, replace center muffler.
