Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing Airbag Control Unit (Basic/Central Airbag Unit Or Multiple Restraint System)


WARNING!
Comply with safety precautions!
An incorrect procedure can lead to activation of the airbag and possible injury.
Disconnect battery and cover negative pole or terminal.
Perform system check after assembly.







Saloon/Sedan, Coupe, Convertible, Touring, Compact:
Remove rear seat.
Unfasten screws.
Disconnect plug connection and remove airbag control unit.

Installation:
Arrow on unit shows direction of travel.
Observe Tightening Torque, 8.8 Nm







Z3 Coupe, Z3 Roadster, M Coupe, M Roadster:
Remove center console.
Disconnect plug connection.
Release screws (1) and remove airbag control unit.

Installation:
Observe Tightening Torque, 8.8 Nm
