Trailing Arm: Service and Repair
Remove complete left or right semi-trailing arm (compact, Z3)
Install pedal support and actuate brake pedal. This prevents brake fluid from escaping from the brake system when the brake line is disconnected.
After assembly, bleed the brake system, refer to Brakes and Traction Control.
Disconnect hand-brake cable from hand-brake lever, refer to Brakes and Traction Control.
Remove wheel, refer to Wheels Tires and Alignment.
Remove coil spring.
Disconnect ABS pulse sender.
If necessary, unplug brake pad wear indicator.
If necessary, unscrew stabilizer on trailing arm.
Disconnect left and right brake pipes.
Installation:
Tightening torque, refer to Specifications.
Support trailing arm.
Unfasten screws and pull trailing arm out.
Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque, refer to Specifications
