PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THIS SERVICE INFORMATION ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES BEFORE CUSTOMER DELIVERY OR THE NEXT TIME THEY ARE IN THE SHOP FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS.

Since we are currently experiencing a parts shortage we request that the modification described in this bulletin only be performed on vehicles that are retailed.

SUBJECT
MY '02 M roadster; Cruise Control System Not Installed

MODEL
E36/7 M roadster

SITUATION
On certain MY '02 M roadster vehicles Cruise Control System was not installed in the factory. Cruise control is standard equipment on MY '02 M roadster.

Therefore, BMW is conducting a Service Action to install the missing cruise control system

AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves E36/7 M roadster vehicles, which were produced in October and beginning of November of 2001.





Note:
Affected vehicles will not be listed on the Dealer Communication System. Please refer to the list shown to determine the range of vehicles that may be affected.





PARTS INFORMATION

After the order has been placed please contact the Retail Parts Consultant Group at 1-800-272-0202 to have the order released by VIN. At this time we will only release orders for vehicles that are retailed.





WARRANTY INFORMATION

Reimbursement for this repair will be via regular Warranty Claim entry
