SUBJECT
CPT 8000 Phone Compensator Connection on MY '02 E39, E53 Vehicles

MODEL

E39, 5 Series from 09(01 E53, X5 vehicles from 10/01

SITUATION

On Model Year '02 E39 and E53 vehicles, the phone antenna output connector (handset side of the antenna harness) located in the rear of the vehicle, has been changed to the automotive RF type of connector. This connector type is not compatible with the corresponding connector on the CPT 8000 Phone Compensator.

CORRECTION

If the optional Compensator is being installed in conjunction with the CPT 8000 Digital Phone, the special "female RF to male Mini-UHF" adapter harness (PN 84 11 0 142 823) has to be ordered separately This adapter harness allows for the connection between compensator signal output (terminated with male Mini-UHF type) and antenna coaxial lead (terminated with female RF type).

NOTE:
The adapter harness PN 84 11 0 025 711 ("male RF to male Mini-UHF type connector) allowing connection between the antenna lead and the compensator input side, is already included in the Compensator Installation Kit, and should not be ordered separately.

NOTE:
When installing the CPT 8000 Phone kit only (without Compensator), the adapter harness PN 84 11 0 142 823 is not required. Both terminations of antenna leads have to be plugged together.
