MK3 NAV: Display Has a Start-up Delay at Temperatures Below 37°F

Vehicles produced from 02/2002 to 09/2002 with option 609 (Navigation System Professional, MK3 with CD drive)

SITUATION
The board monitor display has a delayed start-up at ambient temperatures below 37°F. After the vehicle doors are opened, the display starts up after a delay of between 3 and 45 minutes.

The problem does not occur on vehicles with DVD Navigation.

CAUSE
Software error in the NAV computer

[NEW] CORRECTION
DO NOT REPLACE PARTS!

Install the most current navigation system software.
