Temperature Control IHS/IHKS (IH(K)S Integrated Heating/Air Conditioning Control E85)

Temperature Control IHS/IHKS

Warm and cold air are mixed for the purpose of controlling the temperature. The required position of the temperature mixing flap is set at the rotary temperature control on the control panel/control module. The outlet temperature is set by means of the temperature mixing flap. The temperature mixing flap is coupled by means of a stepper motor to the rotary control.

The temperature is controlled by mixing:
- Outside air that flows through the evaporator = cold air (IHKS only)
- Outside air that initially flows through the evaporator and then through the heat exchanger (reheat) = warm air

In the integrated heating system, fresh air and warmed air that flows through the heat exchanger are mixed.

NOTE: There is no temperature correction with regard to changes in engine speed (e.g. idle speed and full load).
