Relieve tension on convertible top.
Note: In event of a technical defect: open convertible top manually.
If necessary, remove complete convertible top.
Slide retainer (1) on zip fastener on inside to one side and detach.
Open zip fastener.
Pull off roofliner at bottom a few centimeters.
Release screws (1) on tensioning frame.
Unhook roofliner with tensioning straps and cover strip.
Installation:
Cover strip (1) (shown covered) is composed of four individual sections.
Preassemble each piece (1) on plastic edge of roofliner (2) with screws.
In addition, preinstall tensioning straps (3) on left and right.
Screw preassembled parts to tensioning frame.
Release screws (1) on bar (2) above rear window.
Unhook roofliner.
Release roofliner at both bars in same way.
Installation:
Slide metal rail (1) into loop (2) of roofliner until it is flush with loop.
Screw loop and metal rail to bar.
Caution:
- Convertible top frame is made of magnesium.
- Do not damage surface (e.g. scratches). Any damage will result in destruction of the convertible top frame.
- Touching up with matching paint is not possible. Convertible top frame will continue to oxidize.
- A damaged convertible top frame must be replaced.
Release screws (1) on convertible top frame at front.
Caution: Exercise utmost care when handling cutting tools. Do not damage roofliner and convertible top cover.
On left and right, press on sealing lip (1) of rear window seal (2).
Drill out rivets (3).
Carefully lever roofliner off remaining rivets.
Remove remaining rivets.
Drill out rivet (1) and feed out pulling strap (2). Remove remaining rivets.
Carefully feed roofliner (3) out of convertible top frame and remove.
Installation:
Cut off pull strap flush with convertible top frame and seal with soldering iron against fraying.
