E46: Turn signal lamp loose

Complaint
The front turn signal lamp is loose. The retaining tabs with which the turn signal lamp is secured may be broken.

Vehicles concerned: E46 Sedan and Sport Wagon

Production period: September 2001 - September 2003

Cause
The retaining tabs for the turn signal lamp may become distorted.

Measure
If the retaining tabs are undamaged:

Install a turn signal bracket to strengthen the retaining tab for the turn signal at the securing point.

Turn signal bracket left P/N 6113 6 938 622

If the retaining tabs are damaged:

Install a replacement turn signal lamp together with a strengthening bracket. Until existing stocks are exhausted, the strengthening bracket must be ordered separately.

In the future, replacement turn signal lamps will be supplied complete with strengthening bracket.
