Front Headrest Drive, Replacement

(Backrest Completely Removed)
Remove backrest cover with support.

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Remove connecting shaft (1) out of transmission (2) and drive unit/transmission (3).

Extract retainers and remove transmission (1) and drive unit/transmission (2).

A: Twist output spindle (1) firmly home (2), then untighten 1 complete turn.
B: Slide drive transmission (3) onto backrest frame (pressing down backrest frame slightly if necessary) and fit retainers.

Screw in output spindle (1) until the transmission (2) can be slid into place without any torsional stress (never press down backrest frame): adjust with connecting shaft if necessary. Fit retainers.

Insert connecting shaft (1) in transmission (2) but do not insert the other end with the square head (3).

Place backrest frame on a flat surface. Measure the gap (X) on left and right sides.
Permitted deviation on left and right sides: max. 2 mm.

If necessary, adjust transmission using square head on the connecting shaft.

Insert connecting shaft (1) in drive unit/transmission (3).

Installation:
The shaft must locate in the folded metal sheet (must not protrude - risk of damaging the shaft).

If necessary, twist the connecting shaft (1) by hand for max. 90 ° until it can be inserted in the drive unit/transmission (3).
