Replacing Rear Panel on Seat Backrest (Load Through System)




Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Panel On Left Rear-Seat Backrest (Load Through System)

Removing and installing backrest for left or right rear seat.
Remove both headrests.







Unscrew bolt (1).
Press lock finisher (2) somewhat upward until clip (3) is free and carefully pull off toward outside.







Installation Note: Clip (1) of finisher (2) may not be damaged.







NOTE: Before removing seatbelt finisher strip (2), pull out safety belt (3) completely and secure against retracting (e.g. by knotting).


Unfasten screws (1) and pull out seatbelt finisher strip (2) for safety belt (3).







Grasp finisher (1) for release lever from inside and pry out upward.







Installation Note: Retaining straps (1) may not be damaged.







Version with ski bag only:
Press together finisher (1) for release lever (ski bag) on sides and pull off upward.







Unfasten screws (1) and pull off finisher (2) for center headrest upward.







Unfold center armrest.
Open cover (1) (burr fastener) and pull oft cover (2) (burr fastener).







Unclip finisher (1) (rear panel/center armrest).







Lift out cover (1) with folding leg (special tool 00 9 321) (U-profile).







Lift out cover on rear-seat backrest at side (1) and top (2) with folding leg (special tool 00 9 321) (U-profile).







Removing rear panel:


NOTE: Proceed exactly according to these instructions, as otherwise clips (1 to 5) on inside of rear panel will be damaged and rear panel must be replaced. Arrow indicate clip hook direction.







For version with ski bag, also note following:


NOTE: On version with ski bag, two additional clips (1) are present. Arrows indicate clip hook direction.







Step 1:
Unhook clip (1) toward outside/upward with screwdriver (0.6 x 3.5) and lift rear panel (2).







Step 2:
Press down foam (1), unhook clip (2) toward outside/upward and lift rear panel (3).







Clips (1) and (2) are unhooked, hold up rear panel with slight preload.







Step 3:
Clip (1) and (2) are unhooked, hold up rear panel with slight preload.
Press rear panel downward/toward center to unhook clip (3) and (4).







Step 4:
Clips (1 to 4) are unhooked, continue to hold up rear panel with slight preload.
Press rear panel outward to unhook clips (5) and remove rear panel upward.







Installation:
Clips (1 to 5) on inside of rear panel may not be damaged, as otherwise rear panel must be replaced.
Arrows indicate clip hook direction.
