Removing and Installing/Replacing Seat Frame on Left or Right Front Seat (Comfort)

52 17 020 - Removing and installing/replacing seat frame on left or right front seat (comfort)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front seat Removing and Installing Left or Right Front Seat (Comfort)
- Remove both rear panels Removing and Installing/Replacing Both Rear Panels on Left or Right Front Seat backrest (Comfort) on front seat backrest
- Remove outer cover Removing and Installing/Replacing Outer Cover on Front Left or Right Seat (Normal/Electric)
E60 only: Remove actuating unit
- Remove inner cover Removing and Installing/Replacing Inner Cover on Left or Right Front Seat (Comfort) on front seat
- Remove adjustment unit Removing and Installing/Replacing Adjusting Unit for Thigh Support on Left or Right Front Seat for thigh support
- Remove backrest frame Removing and Installing/Replacing Backrest Frame on Left or Right Front Seat (Comfort) on front seat
- If necessary, remove drive unit Removing and Installing/Replacing Drive for Left or Right Active Seat (Comfort) for active seat





Remove wiring harness (1) from seat frame (2).





Release rivets (1) on left and right, remove fastening strips (2) on left and right.
Release screws (3).
Tightening torque: 52 10 6AZ Front Seats.
Remove seat frame.





Installation:
When replacing backrest or seat frame, break off centering hooks (1) from seat frame.





The new seat frame part contains all the drives.
