Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

12 61 280 - Removing and installing or replacing oil pressure sensor (N73)





Warning!
Scalding hazard!
Only perform this task on an engine that has cooled down.





Installation location:
Cylinder bank 1 to 6 underneath timing chain tensioner.
Engine oil may emerge when oil pressure switch is replaced; have a cleaning cloth ready.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
Switch off ignition.





Note:
Illustration does not show exhaust manifold.

Unlock and detach plug connection (1).
Unscrew oil pressure switch (2).

Installation Note:
Tightening torque, 12 61 1AZ 12 61 Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Oil Level Display
Check engine oil level, top up engine oil if necessary.
