Replacing Left Knock Sensors

Replacing Left Knock Sensors (Cylinder Bank 5 To 8) (M62)

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.

Remove coolant manifold.
Remove pipe to water pump.

Installation Replace sealing ring.


CAUTION:
Mixing up the knock sensor plug connections will result in engine damage!
The wiring and plug connections must correspond to the original routing. This eliminates the risk of mix-ups.







Release screws.
Tightening torque, Knock sensor 20 Nm.


NOTE:
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults.
Now clear the fault memory.
