51 16 000 Removing And Installing/Replacing Mirror On Left Or Right Front Door (Coupe)

Remove front door trim panel.







Removing trim from triangular mirror section:

NOTE: Trim is clipped into place at top (1) and secured at bottom by a guide (2).







Removal of trim (1):
- Unclip top clip (2) towards inside
- Slide trim (1) towards top a little
- Remove trim (1) towards inside







Installation:
Clip (1) and guide (2) of trim (4) must not be damaged.
If necessary, fit spacer buffer (3).







Removing mirror:
Unfasten plug connection (1).
Remove cable (2) from holder.
Press rubber grommet (3) outwards.
Release screws (4) and feed out mirror (5) with cable.

Installation:
1AZ Mirror to front door 6 Nm
Only for new rearview mirror (replacement) for initial screw connection (shaping of threadcutting screws) 8 Nm

Replacement only:
Because of the thread-cutting screws, the tightening torque increases by 2 Nm when the mirror is new,
1AZ Mirror to front door 6 Nm
Only for new rearview mirror (replacement) for initial screw connection (shaping of threadcutting screws) 8 Nm







Installation:
Fit mirror base (2) with sound insulation (1).
Check function.
