Replacing Heater A/C Fan

Removing And Installing/Replacing Heater - A/C Fan

Special tools required:
- 51 3 057

M43TU only:
Remove cylinder head cover.

M47, M47TU only:
Remove complete wiper console.
Remove air cleaner element.

M52TU, M54 only:
Remove engine cover.

M57 only:
Remove intake air manifold.

N42 only:
Remove cylinder head cover.







S54 only:
Remove intake air manifold.
Detach hose (1) in direction of arrow from fitting (2).
Remove cover strip (3) in direction of arrow from guide (4).

All:
Remove heater bulkhead.







Raise lever (1) and feed out fresh air flap (2).







Unclip retainers (1).
Release screw (2) and lever out fan cover (3).







Release screws (1) and lever out fan cover (2).







Disconnect plug connection, release retainer with special tool 51 3 057 and lever out fan.







Installation Note: Rib (1) must snap into place in window (2) of fan motor.







Lever out fan towards front.
