SUBJECT
PDC Light Flashing after SZM Replacement

MODEL
E60, E61 (5 Series)

E63, E64 (6 Series)

[NEW] Vehicles produced up to 3/2007

SITUATION
After replacing the SZM (Center Switch Module) on a vehicle without PDC (Park Distance Control/option 508), the PDC light on the SZM flashes continuously.

CAUSE
The PDC button on the SZM was pressed after the SZM was installed.

INFORMATION
To avoid unintended activation, the covers for the unused buttons on the SZM must be attached before installing the SZM.

To reset the flashing LED, the SZM must be connected to a vehicle equipped with PDC (option 508).

If this procedure does not work, replace the faceplate with the one from the original SZM to cover the flashing LED.
