SUBJECT
Various Telegram Errors in Satellites

MODEL
E60 (5 Series) Vehicles produced up to June 2004

SITUATION
Airbag warning lamp illuminates and message "Airbag safety systems restricted" is shown in CID. Following telegram errors could be stored in various satellites:

TMBF 96C2, 96CB8, 96FA, 96B1
TMFA 9642, 9631
SZL 94C3, 94B2
SBSR 98C2, 98AF
SBSL 9842, 9835, 982
SFZ 9AC2, 9AB1
SGM-SIM 93E4, 93DA, 93B0

CAUSE
Software error in door modules.

PROCEDURE
Do not replace any parts.

In the event of a customer complaint, perform diagnostics with DIS or GT1. Work through the corresponding test module.

Program vehicle using CIP 12.0 or higher.
