Replacing Complete Spring Strut Shock Absorber

31 31 000 Removing and installing complete left or right spring strut shock absorber

Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove swivel bearing

After installation:
^ Align front axle if a spring strut with support bearing has been installed without centering pin.





Important! No centering pin fitted: In order to maintain the original camber approximately, it is necessary to mark the position of the studs in relation to the wheel arch. Only one nut may ever be released for marking.

No centering pin fitted: Make position of studs in relation to wheel arch.
Secure spring strut against falling out.
Unscrew nuts.
Remove spring strut downwards out of wheel arch.

Installation:
Tightening torque; Spring strut mount to wheel house 34 Nm
Replace self-locking nut.
No centering pin fitted: Align support bearing using markings to wheel arch and tighten down nuts.
Align spring strut using centering pin to bore in wheel arch or using studs to wheel arch and push upwards.
