Brake Force Display (BFD) Inoperative

MODEL
E60 (5 Series) vehicles from 7/03 to 6/05 production

SITUATION

During forceful braking or with ABS active, the additional brake force display lights do not illuminate.

In all conditions the normal brake lights operate correctly.

CAUSE

Lamp Module (LM) software

PROCEDURE

For all vehicles, on a customer complaint basis only, refer to the following procedure:

Update the complete vehicle per SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming) Procedure B using CIP 17.01 (Target Data Status E060-05-06-500) or higher.
