SUBJECT
EGS Fault 4F6A

MODEL
E60 with M54 and 6HP19 transmission

SITUATION
Service Engine Soon light is illuminated and fault 4F6A "Temperature sensor plausibility" is stored in EGS control module. Fault code cannot be erased from EGS fault memory.

CAUSE
Fault in Mechatronic control module caused by incorrect battery disconnection - "hot shut down", meaning battery was disconnected prior to control module entering sleep mode.

CORRECTION
[NEW] Reprogram vehicle with CIP 11.0 or higher
