Low Mileage Oil Leakage from Cylinder Head

All with M54 Engine

Complaint
Oil leakage from engine. Diagnosis indicates leakage coming from the cylinder head. Typically, engine oil fills up a spark plug tube (often cylinder # 2). In some cases, valve cover gasket replacement has been unsuccessfully performed to remedy leakage.

Cause
Porosity in the cylinder head casting between the oil pressure supply passage and the spark plug tubes.

Measure
Replace the cylinder head.
