SUBJECT
Language in the CID (Central Information Display) is in German

E60 (5 Series) from 09/2003

SITUATION
The language in the CID is in German afier a battery reset or when using different keys.

CAUSE
Default setting for the language in the CID is German.

CORRECTION

1. Turn Terminal R on.





2. Press "akzeptieren" (accept) in the legal disclaimer.





3. Select "i" (information) by pressing the iDrive.





4. Select "Einstellungen Anzeige" (Display settings) and press the iDrive.





5. Select "Sprache" (Languages) and press the iDrive.





6. Select "Textsprache Deutsch" (Text language Deutsch) and press the iDrive.





7. Select "English US" and press the iDrive.





8. Check the changed language setting. "Text Language English US" should now appear in the CID.

9. To return to the main menu press the "MENU" button in the center console.
