PDC Too Loud after CCC Replacement

Complaint

The PDC (Park Distance Control) tone and gongs are twice as loud following a CCC (Car Communication Computer) replacement.

Vehicles concerned:
E60 (5 Series) and E63/E64 (6 Series) with option 609 (Professional navigation system) and option 677 (Logic 7)

Cause

Coding problem with the Logic 7 system in conjunction with CCC

Measure

In case of customer complaint perform diagnostics with DIS or GT1. Work through the corresponding test module and then program and code the vehicle using CIP 16.1 or higher.

Refer to SI B09 05 01 (Coding Individualization and Programming) Procedure B.

Until the CIP 16.1 is available program and code the vehicle with a lower version of CIP but hard disconnect the CCC from the power immediately after the coding procedure without allowing it to enter sleep mode or initiating a power cycle. Hard disconnect is best accomplished by removing the power supply and disconnecting the vehicle battery.
