SUBJECT
Power Window Motor Failure
MODEL
E63, E64 (6 Series Coupe and Convertible) produced up to 4/2009
SITUATION
One of the front windows may be inoperative, including the window short drop feature. In addition, on convertible models, the convertible top is inoperative due to the fact that it will not operate unless the windows are lowered.
CAUSE
Permanent failure of the window motor.
CORRECTION
Replace the affected window motor and program the Body Gateway Module (KGM).
PROCEDURE
1. Replace the affected window motor per repair instruction REP 67 62 000.
2. Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.35.1 or later.
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.

NOTE:
Only one window motor (left/right) may be replaced for this situation and the vehicle update must be performed for a permanent solution.
