Center Console Switch Center (BZM) And Rear Center Console Switch Center (BZMF)

Brief description of components

Center console switch center
The control module center console switch center has the following functions:
- CAN BUS interface to the vehicle electrical system
- Interface to the seat switches
- Interface to the controller

The control module center console switch center is fitted in the front center armrest.

Rear center console switch center
The control module rear center console switch center has the following functions:
- CAN BUS interface to the vehicle electrical system
- Interface to the seat switches
- Interface to headphones

The control module rear center console switch center is fitted in the rear center armrest.

CAN BUS interface to the vehicle electrical system
The BZM and the BZMF are the interface between the "vehicle electrical system -seat switches".

Interface to the seat switches
The BZM/BZMF are connected by means of a ribbon cable with the switch blocks. The following functions are transmitted:
- The operation of the seat switches is evaluated
- The LEDs are activated

Interface to the controller
The controller is connected to the BZM. From a functional point of view, the BZM has nothing to do with the controller. The bus leads from the K-CAN SYSTEM, positive and ground supply are only looped through the BZM. The positive and ground connections to the controller are split between three separate leads in order to keep the continuous current load at the connector within the permissible limits.

Interface to headphones
(in the case of corresponding rear interior equipment).

The following inputs are read out by the BZMF and output via the CAN bus:
- Volume knob for headphones volume
- Search rocker switch
- Headphones detection
