SUBJECT
DVD Navigation System is Inoperative at Low Ambient Temperatures
MODEL
E65/66 (7 Series) from 6/1/2004 up to 1/12/2005
SITUATION
The DVD Navigation System is inactive when starting the vehicle at ambient temperatures below 37°F.
After the electronic units have warmed up, all functions are available.
CAUSE
DVD drive in the NAV computer.
CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis, replace the DVD Navigation computer.
After installing the DVD NAV computer, check the I-level of the NAV computer and the vehicle.
Program/code the NAV unit if necessary.
Using SSS loaded with CIP15.2 or later, perform programming and coding (Refer to SI B09 05 01 - Coding, Individualization, Programming (CIP), Procedure A).
Note that CIP will automatically reprogram all programmable control units that do not have the latest software.
