Sunroofs

Sunroof Operation

Lifting, opening, and closing
With the ignition key in position 1 (KLR) or higher, move the sliding switch in the direction of the desired movement. Moving the switch past the detent will allow one-touch operation of the roof. After the ignition has been switched off the sunroof can be operated for up to 16 minutes or until a door is opened.

Convenience opening is available from the radio transmitter key by pressing and holding the unlock button. Convenience closing is only available from a door lock cylinder.

Safety feature
If the sunroof encounters any resistance during the last half of its travel when it is closing the motor will be interrupted and will back up slightly. This is known as anti-trap.

Power loss
In the event of a power-loss (for instance if the battery is disconnected) the sunroof will have to be initialized for proper operation. To re-initialize the sunroof: Raise the sunroof to the tilt position and hold the switch for greater than 15 seconds.

Manual operation

If the sunroof motor/module fails, emergency opening/closing can done manually. To operate the sunroof manually, insert the allen wrench from the vehicle tool kit (4mm) in the hexagon head on the motor drive pinion and rotate in the desired direction.
