Procedure After Triggering Of Airbags (From MY 94)
Replace following components after airbag has been triggered:
- Control unit
The control unit permits up to 3 crash entries and must be replaced after the third crash. In this case, the fault memory cannot be reset or cleared. The airbag warning lamp will light up permanently in the instrument cluster.
- Cables and plugs
Check cables and plugs for damage, replace if necessary.
- Driver's airbag
- Airbag module
- Steering wheel (if damaged)
- Steering column (if damaged)
- Passenger airbag
- Airbag module
- Cover for airbag module (on instrument panel)
- Supporting tube (if damaged)
- Side airbag, front/rear
- Airbag module
- Door trim panel
- ITS head airbag
- Airbag module
- Trim, A-pillar
- Roofliner
- Trim, B-pillar (if damaged)
- C-pillar airbag
- Airbag module
- Trim, C-pillar
