SITUATION
On occasion, owners of X5s may encounter problems with their door locking systems, which can be difficult for a technician to diagnose.
The troubleshooting diagram has been produced to assist the technician in diagnosing problems with the locking system. Please make this document available to all Service Advisors also, so that they can use it to accurately record the customer's complaint on the repair order.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Those items which are normally covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty are so noted on the troubleshooting diagram. In addition, the applicable Defect Codes which should be used on the warranty claim, are also noted.
