33 52 000 Removing and installing/replacing left or right rear shock absorberWhether a shock absorber has to be replaced can only be ascertained by testing it while installed with a shock tester or while removed with a shock absorber testing machine.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove mounting for convertible top compartment floor.
Important:
After installation: Check output shaft for correct seating in final drive.
Support trailing arm on workshop lifter (1) and release bolt.
Important:
The shock absorber has the function of an arrester band.
To prevent damage to the output shaft, do not remove the support or raise the vehicle.
Installation:
Thrust washer (2) on rubber mount must point to screw head.
Unscrew nuts.
Installation: Replace self-locking nuts.
Support bearing arrangement:
1 = Nut
2 = Joint seat
3 = Support bearing
4 = Supporting ring
5 = Support element
6 = Auxiliary spring
