Door Sill Trim Scratched

SITUATION
The front area of the door sill trim strip may become scratched or damaged.

CAUSE





Both front doors have a rubber plug seated in the bottom of the door (1) which may contact the trim strip while opening and closing.

CORRECTION

On a customer complaint basis, the existing rubber plug may be replaced by an adhesive pad which has a lower profile and will therefore not contact the trim strip.

PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the existing rubber plug from the bottom of the door.

2. Apply an adhesive pad over the hole in the door from which the plug was removed.

3. Replace the door sill trim per repair instruction RA 51 47 065.
