Shifter ASMT: Service and Repair

Removing and Installing/ Replacing Shift Paddles for SMG Transmission

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative lead
- Remove airbag unit





Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unfasten screws (2).

NOTE:
Both shift paddles (3) are connected to each other by cable loom (4).

Remove both shift paddles (3) towards front/


Installation:
- Make sure shift paddles (3) are correctly seated.

Version With Multifunction Steering Wheel:
- Remove multifunction steering wheel switch





Disconnect plug connection (1).

Feed cable loom (2) out of steering wheel cover (3) and remove both shift paddles.

Installation:
- Make sure cable loom (2) is correctly laid under steering wheel cover (3).
