54 31 060 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Or Right Convertible Top Catch (Mechanical)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove convertible top fabric from 1st bow.







Remove cover (1 or 2) upwards.







Loosen screws (1).
15AZ Convertible top lock to convertible top frame (bow 1)
M6 14.5 Nm
Releasing actuating rod (2):
- Slide retainer spring (3) to end of rod.
- Detach actuating rod from ball end.







Installation:
Basic adjustment is necessary in event of replacement:
- Install both catches and turn cross.
- Move safety catch (1) into closed position.
- Check dimension A = 78.5±0.5 mm.
- The dimension can be altered by turning the ball socket (2):
- Screw in = dimension A is reduced
- Screw out = dimension A is increased
