Reinforcement Plate Remove and Install
Removing and installing/replacing front underbody protection
- Release screws (2) and pull out underbody protection (1) from under bumper trim (3).
Installation:
- Ensure that seals are correctly seated.
- Center underbody protection (1) and tighten down screws (2).
Removing and installing/replacing reinforcement plate on front axle support.
Special tools required: 00 9 120
Important!
Vehicles must not be driven without reinforcement plates. Driving without the reinforcement plate may damage the front axle.
Screws of reinforcement plate must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120.
- Release screws (3).
- Unfasten screws (1 and 2).
- Remove reinforcement plate.
Installation:
- Replace screws (1 and 2).
- Insert screws.
- Tighten down screws (1 and 2) to torque and then to angle of rotation, tightening torque, 51 71 3AZ.
- Tighten down screws (3).
Removing and installing/replacing reinforcement plate on rear axle.
Special tools required: 00 9 120
Important!
Vehicles must not be driven without reinforcement plates. Driving without the reinforcement plate may damage the vehicle body.
Screws of reinforcement plate must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120.
- Remove heat shield (2):
- Release clip.
- Release screws (1).
- Release nuts (3), screws (4) and screws (2) and remove reinforcement plate (1).
Installation:
- Replace screws (2).
- Insert screws.
- Tighten down screws (2) to torque and then to angle of rotation, tightening torque, 51 71 5AZ.
- Tighten down screws (4) and nuts (3), tightening torque, 51 71 6AZ.
