Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair
17 11 035 - Removing and installing/replacing fan cowl with electric fan (N62, N62TU)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
- Switch off ignition
- Remove radiator cover Removing Radiator Cover
Unlock plug (1) on AUC sensor and disconnect.
Unlock connector (2) and remove.
Note:
Modify AUC sensor when replacing fan cowl.
Note:
Only with engine oil cooler installed!
Detach engine oil lines from engine oil cooler (see arrows).
Replace sealing rings.
Raise fan cowl (1) approx. 3 cm.
Note:
For purposes of clarity, this work step is shown on the fan cowl after it has been removed.
Fold in left retaining tab (1) in direction of arrow.
Remove fan cowl (1) in direction of arrow.
Note:
Only with engine oil cooler installed!
Modify the engine oil cooler when replacing the fan cowl.
Release screws (see arrows).
Detach engine oil cooler (1) from fan cowl (2) and install in new fan cowl.
Clear DME fault memory.
