SUBJECT
CCC: Acoustic Warning Gong Sounds at Times, No CC Message

MODEL
E60, E61 (5 Series) with SA 609 (CCC -Navigation)

E63, E64 (6 Series)

Vehicles produced up to August 30, 2006

SITUATION
The vehicle audible warning gong continues to sound after the vehicle is started and will not turn off until the vehicle is turned off. When this occurs there are no Check Control messages displayed in the Instrument Cluster and the seat belt buckles are properly buckled.

CAUSE
CCC (Car Communication Computer) software error.

PROCEDURE
Update the complete vehicle per SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming) procedure B, using Progman V23.00.00 (Target Data Status E060-06-09-520) or higher.

Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
