SUBJECT
Airbag Warning Lamp Illuminated for Backrest Microswitch

MODEL
E64 (6 Series)

Vehicles produced July 31, 2005 to October 31, 2005

SITUATION

The customer complains that the airbag warning lamp is illuminated and there is a fault in the ACSM (Active Safety and Crash Management) module (either 93C6 or 93C7) for the backrest lock.

CAUSE

Software error.

CORRECTION

Reprogram the vehicle using Progman V20.0, or later. Refer to B 09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization and Programming) Procedure B.
