Replacing A/C System Compressor (N73)




64 52 524 - Replacing A/C system compressor (N73)





Warning!
Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
Follow safety instructions for handling R 134a refrigerant Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Stabilizer.
Follow safety instructions for handling refrigerant oil Drawing off, Evacuating and Filling A/C System (R 134a).

Note:
The time value given for this work operation does not include drawing off, evacuating and filling the A/C system!
- Drain off air conditioner [1][2]Specifications





Important!
Risk of damage!
Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.

Note:
If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours:Replace desiccant insert for A/C system Removing and Installing/Replacing Condenser for A/C System





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove A/C compressor drive belt Replacing A/C Compressor Drive Belt
- Remove right intake filter housing
- Remove front underbody protection Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Underbody Protection
- Lower stabilizer bar Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Stabilizer on front axle





Release suction and pressure lines (1) and remove.

Installation Note:
Tightening torque 64 52 1AZ [1][2]Specifications.

Disconnect plug connection (2).

Installation Note:
Replace all sealing rings.





Release screw (1).
Secure compressor (3) against falling out.
Release screw (2).

Installation Note:
Tightening torque 64 52 3AZ [1][2]Specifications.
