Cannot Initiate a Phone Call using Voice Recognition when a CDMA Handset is in Extended Roaming Mode
MODEL
E65, E66 (7 Series) from 3/05 to 8/06 production
AFFECTED HANDSETS
^ Motorola V3c

SITUATION
If a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) handset is in extended roaming mode a call cannot be initiated via voice recognition. A call can be initiated via the i-Drive or Telecommander.
Extended roaming mode can be identified by the antenna signal strength bar flashing in the Control Display (CD).
CAUSE
Software error.
PROCEDURE
For all vehicles, on a customer complaint basis only, refer to the following procedure:
Update the complete vehicle per SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming) Procedure B using Progman V23.00.00 (Target Data Status E065-06-09-450) or higher. This software is expected to be available in October 2006.
